You don’t need a lot of fancy clothing to take part in gymnastics – if you’re coming along to try it out for the first time, all you need is a t-shirt and shorts. If you decide you like it, then you’ll need to buy a leotard.
For those gymnasts who become more serious, you can buy Darlington Gymnastics Club branded clothing. If you are invited to join one of our competitive squads, then you’ll need a competition tracksuit and leotard.
We’ve put links to where you can buy this clothing, along with other items you might want to buy below. As ever, if you’re not sure, then please ask one of the team.
All gymnasts
We have our own range of DGC branded items, from leotards and matching shorts to t-shirts and hoodies for both girls and boys.

In addition to the clothing, children must bring a water bottle to each training session. We do sometimes have stock of DGC branded water bottles for sale on reception.
Squad gymnasts
Squad gymnasts compete at local and regional competitions. For these competitions, they will need a Club leotard and Club tracksuit. We also strongly recommend that they buy a Club Backpack to bring everything they need on the day.
The Club Backpack can be bought from Little Stars Leotards
The Tracksuit can be bought from AStar: you’ll need to enter a passcode which you can get by emailing admin@darlingtongymnastics.co.uk
We order the leotards directly from the manufacturer. Whilst we do hold a small stock of the most common sizes, it can take a while for them to arrive, so please speak to a member of the team well in advance of any planned competitions.
In addition to the clothing, squad gymnasts will (over time) need:
- Handguards
These can be bought from Little Stars Leotards or Gymnastics Express - Loops
These can be bought from Little Stars Leotards or Gymnastics Express - Chalk (in an appropriate box)
The chalk can be bought at reception, and will fit in a small sandwich box.
