Our pre-school sessions are a perfect introduction to Artistic Gymnastics for young children. During these sessions coaches will focus on the fundamentals of gymnastics through guided open play and activities. Children will be introduced to various equipment such as; Asymmetric Bars, Balance Beam, Floor, Vault and Tumble track, as well as a basic set of skills including forward rolls, handstands, jumps & spins. Darlington Gymnastics Club provides specific pre-school qualified coaches for these sessions to ensure both children and parents/carers feel comfortable to learn in a safe and friendly environment. The aim of these sessions is to allow children to develop their balance, co-ordination, gross and fine motor skills, body control and spacial awareness.

Pre-school gymnasts will also have the opportunity to gain certifications and ribbons through the DGC Achievement Awards programme, this has proven successful learning and development for all our gymnasts where parents are thrilled to experience their child’s progression with them. Sessions are run in a way that allows children to be accompanied by parents/carers, or, once confident enough, to attend alone. Coaches will work hard to ensure a safe and socially interactive environment for children to explore.

Our preschool sessions are £7.75 for one 45 minute session a week, payable by the term.

Register your interest in our Recreational sessions

Our Recreational sessions are designed to introduce children of all abilities to the fantastic sport of Artistic Gymnastics. During these fun structured sessions, coaches focus on building core skills such as balance, co-ordination, flexibility, physical strength and body control. The aim of these sessions is to build confidence to achieve key gymnastics skills on all specialist equipment in a safe and socially interactive environment. Children will be introduced to various equipment such as: Asymmetric Bars, Balance Beam, Floor, Vault and Tumble Track. Gymnasts have the opportunity to gain certificates and ribbons through the DGC Achievement Awards programme. Recreational gymnasts also have the opportunity to participate in specialised skill clinics to further develop skills, holiday camps and Fun Days which all run during school holidays and many fundraising events such as Winter Festival.

Darlington Gymnastics Club aims to provide the highest quality of coaching for all of our gymnasts. All coaches have achieved, or are working towards British Gymnastics coaching qualifications and regularly undertake on going learning and CPD.

Our recreational sessions are £7.75 per 1 hour session a week, payable monthly.

Our Competitive Gymnastics programmes are open to all gymnasts on successful completion of a trail period. Squad Gymnasts train over a number of hours per week to achieve an advanced skill set. Coaches focus on developing these gymnasts to master fundamental skills and achieve a higher level of performance while working with specialised equipment.

We provide a variety of Competitive Pathways to allow gymnasts to reach their highest potential.

Competitive squad gymnasts have the opportunity to participate in specialised skills clinics, GymJam summer camp and are also expected to participate in all fundraising events such as Winter Festival.
